In this project, I have focused on how people respond to inflatable structures (when the body and the moving structures are in relation).

This structure has an anthropomorphic connotation similar to the act of breathing. More specifically, my aim is to emphasize the perception of form and to compose a sympathetic mutual understanding with the interaction between form and people.

In this approach, to build a relationship with an inanimate object, I turned the structure into something that can expand and contract. The movement of which brings out the existence and extinction phenomenon arising curiosity on how form can have the two diverse characteristics. Additionally, the fun associated with playfulness of balloons is replaced with uneasiness due to their size and position in a space formed by the needs of the user; the ‘balloons’ obstruct the use of space.

Balloons are started to be used in a way that spectators have never been exposed to. Moreover, ‘balloon’ as a playful object, has led me to analyse the perception of form in one’s subconscious.

Instead of forms and spaces that we use in everyday life, in my practice, inflatable changing forms (animated) triggers people’s consciousness on one’s subliminal in an unusual way. Imitating the rhythm of the human organs is the starting point to build an interaction. The bodily like movement is an attempt to foster a relationship, in order to bring the movable form to the level of consciousness. A metaphor of respiratory system leads one to find a part of self and to compose an interaction by recalling our very organs way of moving.
